The New York International Fringe Festival is the largest multi-arts festival in
It is an alternative theatre festival, with many new works as well as some classics, meant to give the smaller theatre companies a bigger voice. It is a chance to take a chance. With shows generally ranging from 30 to 90 minutes, FringeNYC is a place to see as much theatre as one possibly can and at the end of it all, find not exhaustion, but inspiration.
In addition to over 1,000 indoor performances, there will be: FringeU (panel discussions, lectures and participant led workshops); FringeJR (for families & groups with children);FringeAL FRESCO (free outdoor events); FringeNYC Propaganda (the Festival newspaper we publish); FringeHIGH (FringeNYC for teens); and FringeCLUB ( place for FringeNYC participants and audience to unwind and socialize).
We are best known as the birthplace of Broadway’s Tony-Award winning Urinetown! and off-Broadway’s Matt & Ben, Debbie Does Dallas, Carnival Knowledge and The Joys of Sex.

Participating companies will perform their shows in over 20 different venues, parks and street stages in downtown

When is FringeNYC?
The New York International Fringe Festival takes place each August, ending the Sunday prior to Labor Day Weekend. However, the preparations for FringeNYC start now!
How can I be involved?
FringeNYC offers internships! There are so many ways to be part of FringeNYC. Fill out the internship application provided and get involved in making theatre history. There will be several intern positions available in each department and interviews are being scheduled.
